P-A-R-T is a City & Guilds accredited course offering a practical guide to everyone working with children in the entertainment industry. You will gain a sound understanding of the DfE regulations, as well as the Local Authorities licensing processes.
Regulations and policies must protect the child, but still remain workable in order to encourage the use of child talent.
Navigating your way around the current children’s working regulations can seem daunting. We all have a duty of care towards the children and young adults that work alongside us. Whether directly or indirectly working around children, having a clear understanding of the Government Regulations and Local Authority requirements is essential. Being able to interpret these in practical terms supports cost effectiveness and your safeguarding responsibilities, ensuring everyone is supported with the correct tools and framework. Adopting this best practice enables you to make discerning choices when engaging your crew, chaperones and tutors to look after the children you have invited to work on your productions.
This course will enable you to have a clear and concise understanding of your responsibilities when working with children, and also issue you with practical guides to keep on hand, helping give a clear audit trail. Your City & Guilds accredited certificate will last for 3 years and supports your CV for employers, company websites and child protection policy.
As we always have something new to learn, by taking part in this course learners endorse their commitment to supporting their own Continued Professional Development (CPD). Apart from highlighting your legal responsibility and associated risks, our group scenario discussions enable learners to challenge situations and ask questions. By working together we can bridge any gaps ensuring all necessary organisation and reporting structures are in place, the directives of the children’s licenses are upheld, and we are comfortable and confident with the care that we have ALL collectively provided.
City & Guilds accreditation is only awarded to the highest quality programs and demonstrates commitment to excellence and is an instantly recognisable mark of quality and credibility. Our commitment to achieving this demonstrates our dedication to our learners, enabling them to attain the very best benchmark working as a professional within the entertainment industry.
During the course there are 2 assessment papers; the first on the regulations and the second a scenario/case study – prior to these we will do group assessments together.
Results are sent to you within 2 weeks and we will return your assessments and your copy of the CAT PAK. Accredited certificates will be processed through City & Guilds and will be valid for 3 years.
