STEPPING-UP
Bespoke solutions to address areas of evidenced skills shortage in Scotland.
Background
Since its inception in 2013, Stepping-Up has created opportunities for established craft, technical and production crew members gain the skills, experience and confidence necessary to move up to the next professional level.
Through combinations of placements, mentoring and bespoke training courses, the programme has supported individuals to ‘step-up’ in a variety of roles including Camera Operator, Production Manager, Editor, 1st Assistant Director and Script Editor.
In 2014, Stepping Up on Screen produced a short film as a training opportunity which enabled practitioners to fully experience their Stepping-Up role and showcase their talents.
Production Co-ordinators
We are looking for people with these transferable experience and skills to step-up and become production co-ordinators in drama. If you are a co-ordinator in Factual or Commercial production, find out about our 5-day Drama Production Co-ordinator training course.

Electrician Conversion Trainee
BBC Studio’s River City and BECTU Vision have recruited a qualified electrician to work as an Electrician Conversion Trainee in the lighting department of the next series of River City.
This 5-month role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to learn about working in the film and television industry with placements on Scottish productions including Outlander and at Scotland’s largest lighting facility, Panalux.
