HMRC investigates accountancy firm

Press reports have appeared about an investigation by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) into an accountancy company with thousands of freelance clients in film and TV.

According to the trade magazine Broadcast accounts filed by Christopher Lunn and Co. “may not be correct”.

"BECTU has no involvement in the investigation, and no knowledge of, or relationship with this company. However, the union is maintaining a watching brief," said assistant general secretary, Martin Spence.

Freelance BECTU members who are clients of Christopher Lunn and Co. and who wish to contact the union should email their name and membership number to with “HMRC INVESTIGATION” in the subject header.
