13 August 2010
Members at BBC Worldwide have voted to accept a basic pay award for 2010-11 of £400.
More than 78% of members who took part in the consultative ballot, which closed today (Friday 13 August), voted to accept the deal. The consolidated increase applies to staff on grades 1- 4.
The agreement also makes provision to speed up progess to target salary for UK staff on grades 1-4 with effect from 1 July 2010.
Increases for all other UK staff on more senior grades will depend upon an assessment of how their salaries compare with the market.
Colleagues in the BBC paid up to £37,726 were offered a flat rate increase of £475; staff paid above the cap face a pay freeze. BECTU is campaigning for an improved pay offer.
Both BBC and BBC Worldwide staff are affected by the current dispute on pensions. Strike ballots for both groups of members close on 1 September.
