Election 2010: manifestos reviewed

26 April 2010

With less than two weeks to go to polling day, what have the main political parties' said about the issues of particular interest to BECTU members?

Read the union's summary of the parties' plans for rights at work:

  • training
  • the minimum wage
  • equality
  • pensions
  • trade unions;

and the creative industries:

  • film
  • video games
  • the BBC
  • public service broadcasting
  • online piracy
  • arts and culture.

The summary concentrates on the statements of the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties, being those most likely to determine the character of the next government.

An edited version of the summary will appear in the May issue of Stage Screen and Radio due out later this week.
