“Ecstacy” agony continues

27 July 2009

BECTU continues in its efforts to agree payments to its Scottish members owed money by Canadian producer Rob Heydon for the aborted production of Ecstacy.

The latest information suggests that Rob Heydon intends attempting to restart shooting in September in or around Glasgow. It has also been reported that Marie Sutherland has been hired as production manager.

Difficulties associated with Rob Heydon's company on this production date back to last year.

BECTU has been in discussions with public agencies such as the Glasgow Film Office and has written to Marie Sutherland to ensure that everyone concerned is fully aware of concerns over this company.

BECTU will continue to pursue the money owed to its members. Members are urged to contact BECTU’s Scottish Office on 0141 314 0060 or by email should they receive any approaches to work on this project.
