The union's showcase event for freelancers in film and TV is now taking bookings!
BECTU's annual Freelancers' Fair (Friday 21 June, Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street, London, W1S 4BS) will gather together film and TV workers for debate and learning across nine seminars and three workshops. In addition, the event exhibition, with dedicated technical area courtesy of ARRI, is always a lively space full of supportive advice and essential information on a range of topics.
Which seminars will you choose?
With sessions on commissioning, new ways to get your film made, drone use, training opportunities, Making Tax Digital, production using mobile, climate change conscious production, avoiding exploitation when making content for online distribution and succeeding in an unequal world, the takeaways from the day will be plentiful. Visitors can also join a short session with members of our Writers Producers and Directors branch to find out more about their work and we'll be toasting another great event with a cool drink to close the day at our networking social.
The full line-up, including exhibitor list, is set out here (revisit this page for the latest on our guest speakers) along with a link to booking on Eventbrite and a download of the launch flyer.
"Close to 350 people, working in a variety of skillsets, joined us last year at the fabulous Royal Institution for this celebration of freelancers.
"We create a welcoming, informal environment, designed to help you take advantage of sound advice and to make all-important new contacts. We look forward to seeing you there," explained lead organiser, Jane Perry.
Union members attend for free; non-members pay a small fee.
BECTU acknowledges the support of our sponsors: FreeAgent, Hencilla Canworth, Pinewood Studios and Thompsons Solicitors for their assistance in helping BECTU to stage this event.
