Film Expo South is returning to Southampton's AGEAS Bowl on Friday 3 February. Billed as the South's 'premier filmmaking event' you'll find industry services and valuable opportunities to hear directly from creative and industry experts including BECTU's own Spencer MacDonald, our national secretary.

Spencer will be taking part in a session which looks at trade bodies and the role they play.

MORE LIGHTS, MORE CAMERA AND LOADS OF ACTION…..WE’RE BACK!!

AGEAS BOWL, SOUTHAMPTON - FRIDAY 3RD FEBRUARY 2017

FILM EXPO SOUTH is back at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on 3 February 2017.  We heard you, we listened to you and we are very pleased you want us back bringing together the creative film industry talents.

30 seminars and workshops

What’s in store for February 2017? At least 30 Seminars and workshops covering a variety of topics to help filmmakers connect, educate new methods, industry updates, open doors to opportunities and bring more film productions to the South.

Last year the event attracted over 700 filmmakers, students and professionals alike, from the top to the bottom of the UK.  Covering skills from Actors to Producers, Runners to Cameramen and Set Designers to Investors.

Inspiration and enthusiam

This event certainly highlighted the creative resources, as well as raising awareness of all the great capabilities along the South Coast. Filmmakers left inspired and enthused; having forged new alliances and developed their knowledge about the products and services that are available to them right here.

The competition hots up again as well, as we see the return of “Pitch Factor”. During the afternoon finalists of the script writing competition will compete in The Pitch Factor, where three scriptwriters will be chosen to have their short film made either in Hampshire, Sussex or Dorset.

We are thrilled to be receiving such great support across the South with various film companies donating superb prizes to help make the “Movie Magic’ happen. H20 Films from Hampshire are donating 2 days of camera equipment and studios time with TNT Sussex donating their film studios and sets for 2 days.  In Dorset they’ve upped the anti with Julie Dunne covering Casting, Edd Maggs Editing, and Image Republic donating their studios for 2 days. The Pitch Factor moves onto The Battle of the Counties!”   Film Expo South is here to “Make it Happen” – For YOU.
