Advice on how to tackle the bullies

Help is available to support those suffering from bullying at work.

12 March 2015

With Jeremy Clarkson's conduct at work in the spotlight again this week, time to reach out to creative sector workers everywhere who may be suffering workplace bullying.

BECTU's message is you can do something positive about this. Speak to a colleague, to a union rep, a family member or friend. One thing is certain: the sooner you address the issue, the sooner the problem will be solved.

Creating without Conflict

In 2013, BECTU hosted a joint conference - Creating Without Conflict - with sister unions in the Federation of Entertainment Unions.

Attached are two guides - one for staff and one for freelances - which came out of the initiative. If you're suffering at work, you'll find them helpful. And if you want to help others, why not print them off and pin them to a noticeboard or circulate otherwise?

Our union's president, Jane Perry, also wrote about the issue in 2014. Jane's article is also attached here.
