BECTU members have voted overwhelmingly to accept ITV's pay offer for 2014.The consultative ballot closed at midday today (3 February). All three unions have accepted the offer and management has now been informed.
BECTU members voted as follows:
YES/ACCEPT: 73.95 per cent
NO/REJECT: 26.05 per cent.
"The turnout was approximately 36 per cent of our ITV membership, which is about normal for consultative ballots," commented Spencer MacDonald, supervisory official.
The unions' acceptance of the pay offer will now see implementation of the pay award - 2.75% or £1000 (whichever is the greater) backdated to 1 January - for all staff covered by the unions' agreements earning up to £60,000 a year.
For staff earning up to £25,000 the award is in excess of 4 per cent.
The unions claim, submitted last summer, had argued for an increase of RPI plus 3 per cent.
