Members at the Birmingham Hippodrome have voted to accept a 2.7 per cent pay rise effective from 1 April 2013.
More than half of members voted in the ballot (58 per cent) and of those 91 per cent voted in favour of the pay proposal. The one year pay deal will apply to all grades.
In addition, the talks, led by national official Mick Corfield and local representative Frank Spencer, have secured the following improvements to conditions:
- Entitlement to company sick will start after three months' service and successful completion of the probationary period (reduced from six months' service).
- The requirement to repay any enhanced company maternity pay in the event that an employee does not return to work from maternity leave will be scrapped.
The agreement for 2013-14 builds on the positive outcomes of 2012 which saw a return to constructive industrial relations at the venue.
