An Introduction to Editing Craft, Technique & Workflow with Final Cut Pro brought to you by Bristol Media, Creative Skillset and Anchor.

Industry organisations, Bristol Media, Creative Skillset and Anchor present two 1-day workshops, to guide TV self-shooters through the basics of editing and workflow with Final Cut Pro.

Aimed at experienced factual production crew – such as researchers, APs and producers – these workshops will give you the foundation skills to ensure a viable workflow from shoot to post, and the ability to assemble a rough cut that tells the story as you see it. Participants may attend one or both days. 

Please note:This workshop is NOT intended to provide the skills to deliver a fully polished edit and as such is not suitable for those in or aspiring to full-time edit posts, or for new entrants.

DAY 1: THURSDAY12 July 10:00-17:00, £90 inc VAT, LUNCH & REFRESHMENTS

 In the morning award-winning guest editor Denise Perrin will discuss:

 The aims & process of the edit:

  • Conventions, structure and terminology
  • Editing a story to have maximum effect
  • Working effectively with colleagues such as editors and directors, and what you can do to make their lives easier.

After lunch, Apple certified master trainer, Ollie Kenchington andBAFTA mentor Dave Neal will look at managing files and workflow, and what to consider from pre-shoot through to post.

 DAY 2: FRIDAY 13 July 10:00-17:00, £90 inc VAT, LUNCH & REFRESHMENTS

Apple certified master trainer, Ollie Kenchington, will take you through a hands-on introduction to the basics of Final Cut Pro. This day is all about getting familiar with the software package and gaining technical confidence, using a sample factual project as a guide.

Places are strictly limited to 8.
