BECTU has welcomed a judgement yesterday from the High Court which requires internet service providers (ISPs) to block access to file-sharing site Pirates Bay.
Based in Sweden, the file-sharing site permits access to music and video content in breach of copyright regulations.
Commenting on the decision, Martin Spence, assistant general secretary said:
“Criminal sites like Pirate Bay are parasites, making money on the back of other people’s work, and undermining the conditions for future jobs and investment. So this High Court ruling is good news for BECTU members and for workers across the creative industries.”
