Sheffield Theatres agree two-year pay deal

15 March 2012

BECTU members at Sheffield's Lyceum and Crucible theatres have accepted a two year pay deal which runs from 1 April 2012 to 31 March 2014.

Year one will see a 2 per cent increase for all grades; the increase in year two, also expected to be 2 per cent, will, however, says national official, Mick Corfield "be dependant on whether the theatres are subject to the imposition of more cuts over and above those currently budgeted for."

If TMA rates are increased by more than the agreed deal in Sheffield, then the TMA rates would prevail.

A ballot of members last month on the proposed deal returned a majority vote of 89 per cent in favour of acceptance.
