12 February 2012
Time is running out for free registration for the BVE/The Production Show broadcast industry event which runs from 14-16 February at Earls Court 2, London.
Free registration ends on 13 February, so act now if you plan to come along. Otherwise entry on the day will be £15.
BVE has a major focus on technical equipment, innovation and skills for the broadcast industry across all disciplines, whilst the Production Show centres on resources for production including locations and training.
However the show is also a great meeting place.
BECTU will be exhibiting at stand M38 at BVE; whilst the union's new service for new entrants, Creative Toolkit, will be exhibiting at stand 344 in The Production Show.
As always the organisers have encouraged a wide range of seminars too.
BECTU will be taking part in a discussion about women in TV on Thursday 16 February from 11am; speakers will include Kate Kinninmont (WFTV), Kate Elliott (BECTU), Kate O'Connor (Skillset) and Miriam O'Reilly from the Women's Equality Network.
Then at 1pm, also on Thursday 16 February, the union's Creative Toolkit projects brings together Martin Spence (BECTU), Michelle Wyer (HMRC) and Gus Baker (Intern Aware) to discuss the challenges which face new entrants, national minimum wage enforcement and internships (how to make them good!).
Both discussions will take place in the Producers' Theatre.
