Useful contact with industry

The contact scheme, launched in 2009, puts students aiming for a career in the creative sector in touch with many issues of interest.

BECTU is consulted on a range of industry matters - including the official industry guidance on work placements attached to this page - and shares this info directly with students on the register.

Students can also put their questions to BECTU and to members in specific grades.

The union has distributed information on training and workshop opportunities and regularly issues invitations to its networking events.

Students, and particularly those in their final year, will be interested in BECTU's Creative Toolkit website which provides useful information on a range of topics including the National Minimum Wage.

The site also published a number of Help Notes on key themes. Find the Help Notes here.
