Working Hours: Is the long hours culture damaging productivity?
A new study into the long hours culture in the creative sector, particularly with reference to film and TV, has told some home truths. Published in October 2017, the report, dubbed Eyes Half Shut, reveals a shocking working culture, and a widespread belief that these practices are the result of poor management rather than any genuine business need. What’s your experience? With welcome new investment in production in Scotland, BECTU, the industry trade union, says it’s time the industry tackled the negative impact on its people of long hours.
