BBC Academy courses for freelances
- The BBC Academy offers many courses (face-to-face and online) to non-BBC people - especially freelances who work in broadcasting and allied areas. They aspire to train 'the industry' as part of their commitment to a public service and partnership ethos. Well worth checking out.

Filmdirecting4women
- filmdirecting4women are a training provider and support network for women directors at the grassroots level. We run women only courses throughout the year, an annual film festival and various events and opportunitites through our membership scheme.

Four Corners is a community resource and training organisation based in Bethnal Green, London. They are a MITA member and have been supported by the FT2 legacy fund.
They provide - filmmaking facilities & photographic darkrooms, specialist training & industry work placements, professional development for freelancers, production support, exhibitions, screenings, talks and events. -
Just FX - pyrotechnic safety training
- Just FX provides 'Pyrotechnic - Safety Awareness training courses for many theatrical venues/companies, manufacturers, educational establishments, trade associations and other organisations'. Just FX has worked closely with BECTU to run numerous 'pyro' safety courses for members at venues around the UK.

Moving Image Training Alliance (MITA)
- MITA is the membership network for independent training providers in the moving image sector. They have 34 full and associate members and their code of practice (agreed with BECTU) commits them to relevant, high quality, affordable training. This link takes you to their list of members.

Ravensbourne short courses
- Ravensbourne short course unit is based near the O2 at Greenwich. It covers a wide range of TV production, editing and social media courses to a very high standard. It is a Skillset Media Academy in partnership with 01zero1 (Westminster Kingsway College).

- The Skillset course directory is a comprehensive, searchable database of "over 8,000 creative media courses". it is co-published with the British Film Institute (BFI) and is useful for new entrants, experienced industry professionals and anyone looking to develop their career.
