Course description
The website allows members to change and update their own records; allow branch secretaries to access their branch records to communicate and consult with members, and allow local branch web-page editors to edit special branch web pages within the union website.
Branch secretaries will learn how to access the records of their own branch members and bulk-email them. They will also be able to communicate and consult with members from any browser on any computer.
Web page editors will be able to upload information and edit web pages from any browser on any computer. The aim is for all branches to have a means to inform, advise and involve their members in the life of the union.
Who should attend this course?
Branch secretaries are elected or nominated by union branch meetings. Branch webpage editors are members of the local branch who are nominated to edit the dedicated branch web pages located elsewhere on the BECTU website.
If you hold or are nominated for either position please ask your local branch officers or full-time National Official about attending the workshop. If you do not hold a position but would like to get involved, you should also contact your National Official, Sharon Elliott or Brian Kelly at Head Office for advice on your next step.
If you are an elected or nominated BECTU representative then you are probably entitled to time off for training by law. In addition all reps courses are free to attend and BECTU will pay reasonable expenses to enable you to attend.
