Arqiva has agreed at the highest level to reward staff for their efforts in 2010 following the pay freeze in 2009.
The commitment was made at a Stage 3 disputes meeting on 10 May 2010 called in the hope that some movement on the 2009 pay freeze could be secured.
In the end the following statement was agreed:
"Following a stage 3 meeting with BECTU on Monday 10 May 2010, the company confirms that there will be a recommendation to the Board for a pay offer in 2010/11 which will take account of the fact that there was a pay freeze in 2009 and the prevailing economic conditions in 2010. However, the company understands that it needs to recognize (sic) all the hard work put in by staff over the last 12 months."
The statement was signed by Arqiva chief executive officer, Tom Bennie and Luke Crawley, BECTU's assistant general secretary.
