Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs has released new helpline numbers for freelance workers in film with queries about tax.
The new numbers, which replace those previously advised and which include an answerphone for out of hours calls, are:
Tel 0191 419 8800 / 8813.
Queries can also be relayed by email to a.filmproductionmailbox@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
The helpline is set up to respond to questions about actors, the 7 Day Rule, expenses, dispensations, employment status and special letters (including the Lorimer letter).

Freelances employed by TV broadcasters should contact the HMRC unit on:
