Pay negotiations have been concluded at the Birmingham Hippodrome. Staff will receive a total increase of 1.5 per cent for 2009/10.
An increase of 0.5 per cent backdated to April 2009 was paid in July 2009 but further negotiations secured an additional one per cent, also backdated to April 2009.
At the start of negotiations the company proposed a pay freeze but BECTU’s perseverance, and members' support for their representatives, proved persuasive.
Rates released earlier this month for November show the annual Consumer Price Index at 1.9 per cent and the annual Retail Price Index at 0.3 per cent.
Negotiations will begin in the new year for the 2010/11 review.
