10 September 2009

Technical theatre students are being offered the opportunity to take part in two workshops at the National Theatre.

The workshops, which will be led by the NT's head of technical resources, Rob Barnard, take place from 10.00 - 12.00 on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

"The National Theatre showcases some of the most advanced sound, lighting and stage technology in the world, including the famous drum revolve used extensively in the recent production of His Dark Materials," commented Chris Wootton, festival administrator for the National Student Drama Festival which is behind the initiative.

To book your place email Chris Wootton or call 020 7354 8070.

Students working towards a career in the media and entertainment are invited to sign up to BECTU's Student Register for advance notice of opportunities such as this, including information about working in the sector and related events. The Register is aimed at students in higher and further education and registration is free.

BECTU has a long established relationship with staff and management at the National Theatre.
