Members at the National Theatre have voted to accept a 2% rise for 2009/10.
Supervisory official, Willy Donaghy, provided official confirmation of the decision to the National Theatre's head of personnel, Tony Peers, by letter today (Monday).
The correspondence noted the concern of the National Theatre branch "at the low rates of pay paid to some front of house staff and to contractors working at the National."
Meanwhile in regional theatres which are part of the Theatrical Management Association, (TMA), the employers have ratified the pay agreement for 2009/10.
Staff are set to receive a 2% award effective from 6 April 2009; this will be followed by a further 1% increase from 5 October 2009. Rates are set to be reviewed again for the year from April 2010.
Logged in BECTU members can view the revised TMA pay rates.
