CAMPAIGNS

BECTU campaigners hoping that the BBC would reverse plans to move Casualty away from Bristol have lost the argument. Casualty is to move to Cardiff in 2011. More than 200 cast, crew and production staff support the awarding winning programme.

The BBC is moving production to the Welsh capital to meet its commitments for production in the Nations and Regions. Campaigners believe the move will cost the Bristol economy up to £26million per year in lost income.

To find out more and  to participate in the debate visit our Campaigns section of the site.  A online petition has been set up where you can register your opposition. BECTU members who log in can join the discussion in our forum on this topic.
