It is an objective of this site to support internet open standards and provide cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility as much as possible.

Browsers
This site is best viewed with current versions of contemporary browsers, for example Mozilla Firefox - see graded browser support for this site.
With visual older browsers, in particular those that do not support the use of tables or style sheets, not all layout features will be visible - however all text should be legible.
For visual browsers it is recommended viewing this site on minimum 800 x 600 pixel 256 colour display or better.
Standards
This site is designed to adhere to the following W3C recommendations:
- XHTML 1.0 (transitional) for news pages posted after 15 November 2007.
- HTML 4.01 (transitional) for other pages.
- Cascading Style Sheets 2.1 for visual presentation.
Microformats
A number of Microformats are used on this site, including:
- hCard in the contact and who's who page.
- rel-home in links to the site homepage.
- rel-license in links to the site copyright notice.
- hCalendar in the diary and in date tables on news pages, as in this example.
Content management
This site uses bectucms (BECTU Content Management System), devised and written by Tony Scott, which is built on a WordPress core.
